Vengeance

Picture
A decade ago, eight-year-old Aubree Lansing peeked from her hiding place in the closet and saw the unthinkable: a dead body on her bedroom floor and a man standing close by with a gun in his bloodstained hands. A man she called daddy.

Aubree’s courageous testimony during the murder trial led to a hefty prison sentence for Stone Lansing — and placed a heavy weight on his daughter’s heart. When Aubree’s mother married Reginald Kern, one of Stone’s former defense attorneys, and the new family welcomed the birth of twins, it seemed that Aubree had left her tragic past behind. But at age eighteen, her nightmare suddenly resumes: Stone Lansing is out of prison, and he’s looking for the daughter whose words sent him there. In the wake of a death threat, Aubree flees with her twin half-siblings aboard the cruise ship Stargazer and finds protection in the care of its young sea captain. But there’s more than one menace closing in on Aubree, as the cold tide of vengeance threatens to drag her under.

On the run, Dallas must call on the skills he gained from his time in the military to save innocent lives, including his own. With unexpected help from his long-estranged father, and additional assistance from a rugged private investigator and a brilliant, beautiful Chronicle ally, Dallas races to untangle the murder mystery, but can he find justice before his own deadline?

Dead Wrong

And her former boss — the handsome, rich, and extremely dangerous Jace Landry — stalks every move of this beautiful and talented cowgirl.

Aided by a mysterious man in a black cowboy hat, Kaitlyn escapes Jace’s iron grip and flees. On the road, she finds protection and companionship with a loyal trucker named Celia. But when Jace puts seedy private investigator Myler Keegan on Kaitlyn’s trail, she must outrun two men who will stop at nothing to feed their violent obsession. And when her cruel stepbrother joins the hunt, Kaitlyn faces lethal danger from every angle.

With deft skill, master of suspense Clair Poulson serves up nonstop action that pulls readers into Kaitlyn’s pulse-pounding race to freedom — and love.

Don't Cry Wolf

Picture
An officer never knows what he might face when he first arrives at an accident. When Deputy Sergeant Matthew Prescott gets the call directing him to a serious crash on U.S. 191, he drives as fast as he dares. As he approaches the twisted, mangled remains of the vehicle, he doubts there could be any survivors in that wreckage. Somebody’s life would be ruined tonight.

He just never thought it would be his.

Overwhelmed by the memory of losing part of his family that night, Matthew decides to take the sheriff ’s offer to become a detective instead of a patrol supervisor. Maybe not being on-site at car accidents would dull his pain.

A year later, wolves are starting to drift from neighboring Yellowstone Park to Montana ranches and are preying on calves, and a group of activists is passionate about saving the wolves from getting shot by ranchers. But that passion turns to violence with the murder of a rancher who shoots a wolf in order to protect his livestock. Now it’s up to Matthew to find out exactly who is behind the escalating violence.

Filled with unmatchable suspense and unlikely romance, best-selling author Clair M. Poulson’s Don’t Cry Wolf is more than worth the read.

Evidence

Picture
Cody Lind has just finished the perfect date with the most beautiful girl in town. As the seventeen-year-old slips the key into the car ignition, cold steel touches the back of his neck. "Don't look back or you'll die," says a muffled voice. "Just start it up and drive. I'll tell you where to go."

Soon, the disappearance of one of Harrisville's favorite sons and the arrival of an ominous ransom note send ripples of terror throughout the small town. Now it's up to Sheriff Vince Hanks and his deputy, Peggy Smith, to unravel the mystery. But as they encounter unremitting obstacles in the investigation, they realize that no one is above suspicion. It seems Cody wasn't popular with everyone. Especially not with the five major suspects — each with his own dark motives. When one of the suspects ends up being murdered, the duo knows that Cody's kidnapper is deadly serious, and that time may be running out.

Blind Side

Picture
It was supposed to be a pleasant autumn walk in a quiet canyon with her German shepherd. But when Noletta Fahr stumbles upon a murder scene, the young law student becomes the next victim.

Believing his bullet has killed Noletta, the murderer flees. But later he finds out firsthand she has survived. However, his alarm quickly turns to smug complacency when he learns she has been blinded by his actions and can't recognize him. But Noletta's dog, which has now been trained as a guide dog, is another matter: it seems to remember that fateful day — and him.

As detective Martin Atkinson investigates the theft of the dog, his instincts tell him there is more to this routine case than meets the eye. What follows is a fast-paced, page-turning tale of intrigue, deception, betrayal, and romance — and a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit.

Gifted author Clair M. Poulson once again delivers an action-drenched plot, believable characters, and heart-pounding suspense that make Blind Side impossible to put down. A must-read for LDS fiction lovers!

Lost and Found

Picture
For months, a striking young woman has traveled alone through the western United States, working at diners, cleaning hotel rooms, doing whatever odd jobs she can find. None have lasted more than a few days. As soon as her employers learn she has no social security number, no identification, and no past except a name she gave herself after waking in a hospital in New Mexico, Coleen Whitman, they send her on her way.

Another person is traveling as well, a picture in one hand, a generic FBI badge in the other, a gun under his coat. His journeys leading him along a trail, where each stop yields little more information.

Coleen is hunting for the past that has been erased from her memory; and the man is hunting for Coleen because her memory is the one thing, the only thing, that can put him behind bars. I'll Find You

Picture
No one, not even Jeri Satch herself, could explain exactly why she had taken a job hundreds of miles away from her family, friends, and Warren, her perfect boyfriend. It was just something she had to do. . . because it felt right.

Assigned to work with the bookkeeping staff at a minimum security prison, Jeri was invited to tour the facilities. There she saw a strong young man with piercing blue eyes. Could it be Rusty?

When she was just six years old, Jeri had witnessed her best friend, Rusty Eagan, being kidnaped by a menacing stranger. As the old green car sped away with Rusty inside, Jeri screamed, “I'll find you!” Those words — that promise — had haunted her for seventeen years.

As years passed, thoughts of Rusty were never far from Jeri's mind. And she never ceased to watch for the one thing that would identify him — his unforgettable blue eyes.

This muscular inmate named Randy Moore wasn't sure how he knew the attractive young woman who was staring at him. But the name she murmured — Rusty — sent a shiver down his spine, and made long-forgotten memories claw for the light of day. He didn't have time for this. With only months to go before his parole, all Randy could think about was the half a million dollars he had hidden, and the serial killer who would soon be on his trail.

Brimming with intrigue, suspense, and an unlikely love, I'll Find You by Clair M. Poulson tells the incredible story of a young woman's search for a long-lost friend and the adventure of a lifetime that finds her.

Point of Impact

Picture
Duchesne County Justice Court Judge Clair Poulson received a call one day from a Salt Lake Tribune reporter who wanted to know why the judge hadn't given a tougher sentence to a certain drunk driver. The reporter went on to explain that after release from jail, the man in question had resumed his drinking and driving, and had just killed an innocent teenager. The reporter wanted to know if the judge felt at least partially responsible.

"As a judge I see a lot of human tragedies," Judge Poulson explains, "but taking that phone call was one of the most humbling and sobering experiences of my life. I've always been tough on drunk drivers, but I began to wonder if I could do more. I decided to write a novel, hoping to change some attitudes toward drinking, especially among young people."

This book is the story of teenagers in a small Utah town, and the impact of drinking on their lives. Judge Poulson's desire in writing "Point of Impact" is to draw attention to the problems of underage drinking, drunk driving, and alcoholism. And in doing so, he hopes that others will come to realize that this is something we all must deal with if lives are to be saved, both on the highways and wherever alcohol is being abused.
